Snowing here. It is so cool! The kids thought school would be cancelled but, duh, we aren't in Texas anymore. We live across the street from school so there is no reason not to get there. Even the teachers live withing the gated community!
Brought a cookie sheet with me in my air shipment! It doesn't fit in the oven. Drats!
We have a big TV, movies, mac TV and Wii. We are one happy family. Oh, our sheets were packed into the air shipment. The kids were really excited to see their own colorful sheets after a month. Colbie found a few books and toys and we got our Vonage phones. Shouldn't be long before we can call people!
In case anyone is wondering...when they packed our stuff they sent some to storage, up to 8500 lbs in sea shipment (we get that in March after customs ransacks it and steals some) and our air shipment which is small and takes three weeks. We carried our clothes, medicine and necessary items in our suitcases. The rest of our household goods are borrowed or purchased here in Kazakhstan.
To move to a foreign country you have to be able to let go of your stuff. You are considered lucky if you get all of it. It's just stuff, right?
I made it here with four healthy happy kids and one awesome husband. Life is good.
