Lauren and Mayci. They both love animals and bugs and are not interested in boys (well, in the silly girl crush way) at all. They love to get dirty and play outside.
Zachary and Bubba (Malcham Jr.) playing in the back yard. They played so well together and didn't have squabbles with each other. Zach really liked him.
Emily and Morgann. They are the "Divas" of the group.
Malcham is helping Zachary to feed their cow.
Colbie wanted to be a little cowgirl, too.

Lauren in the stick horse race. She rode her horse around the cone, grabbed the flag and carried her horse the rest of the way! She was so excited that she forgot she was supposed to ride it.
Emily in the stick horse race. Wow was she fast!
This weekend we took the kids to Grand Falls, TX for a kids rodeo. Lauren and Emily both placed first in the stick horse competition (Lauren was the only one in her category so she was a shoe in!). Emily won $25 and Lauren won $5. Their friend, Mayci, participated in the "mutton bustin" competition and didn't win (the competition was rigged) but did so good! The ram she was riding fell down twice but she kept hanging on. She was given a second ride because her animal kept falling and although she was dragged halfway across the arena, upside down, she never let go. Way to go, Mayci!

We also visited my good friend, Melanie, and had dinner at their house. The kids had a blast. Melanie's kids are about the same ages as my own and their personalities all matched perfectly. It was neat to see them instantly pair off in to three groups of two. They all played so well. We ended up taking Mayci home with us while Emily stayed at their house with her friend, Morgan. They came to our house for dinner today and we had a hard time pulling the kids away from each other. My kids loved Melanie's house because they had a baby cow and chickens. Lauren and Emily couldn't get enough of chasing those chickens!
Mel and I were roommates at BYU and haven't had the opportunity to live close to each other in such a long time. She is from Midland and although we live in the same places it is never at the same time. We have both lived in the Houston, College Station area, Iowa and West Texas but never at the same time. Finally we are both in West Texas and although about an hour apart, it is nice to be able to see each other more often.

Looks really fun! We had those in in my hometown once a year at the bishop's house. Usually someone ended up hurt because they actually rode calves in them.
We are so glad you came. I cannot believe how much fun the kids had. Mayci asked after we left on Sunday if we could move to Midland so we can be your neighbor. Let's do it again real soon. Love ya!
Aren't those kids just little angels???? Bet they slept good that night!
Cute! Looks like they had fun! I love Cowgirl Colbie.... too funny! Is that the Melanie I met at the baby shower?
